I Was Just Kidding
I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear,
but now my eye sees you;
therefore I despise myself,
and repent in dust and ashes. –Job 42:5-6
I will never, ever again joke around about having a malady I do not have. While my last post was said in jest and I clarified right away, I feel completely guilty about shocking you all with a title that suggested that I have a disease. On top of my polio vaccination, I received a yellow fever vaccination on Tuesday. The yellow fever vaccine is a live vaccine, meaning that they actually give you a controlled amount of the disease so your body will build up the proper anti-bodies to fight against the real thing. Sometimes people feel the repercussions of such vaccinations, sometimes they don’t.
I had every intention of sharing some big news with you all last night, but instead I was lying in my bed with achy muscles and a fever desiring Jesus’ return. I had yellow fever. That’s what I get.
I am sorry for my pseudo-deceptiveness and making you wait. I will also ask for your patience a wee bit longer.
