Two books I’ve just finished reading are Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson. Although these books are completely different in story lines and geography they both served a huge purpose in opening my eyes up to Islam and the Muslim culture. I’ll probably post about them again sometime in the near future.
After I finished reading Infidel, I stumbled upon a blog called Saudi Stepford Wife. She is an American who married a Saudi man and now lives in Saudi Arabia. She’s clearly Muslim by marriage (by choice) and her American insights into the Saudi culture and religion are eye opening. As a Christian, I’ve been challenged by this woman’s frankness and openness as she often leaves you to draw your own conclusions about her life. I found her post about slavery very eye-opening.
