As a professional photographer, it’s rare to have photos of yourself without the use of your remote shutter release. So in the spirit of all that is modeling, I had my picture taken today. Now I know what it’s like to be on the other side of the camera and I have some pretty rad pictures. Thanks Cecile!

I just wanted to let you know I’ve updated my 30-before-30 list. Number 14 used to say “travel to the 5 largest cities in the US.” Now it says “conquer Mother of Pearl.”

I mainly changed it because I’ve already been to 3 of the top 5 cities in the US, and I shouldn’t have anything on there that I’ve already started.

Secondarily, I went rock climbing today on real rock, outside, with the Adirondack bugs and I failed miserably. We named the route I was on Mother of Pearl, and I’ve set a a goal for myself to conquer it; before I turn 30.

It’s only fair to tell you about changes to the list; this should be the only change I make.

My roommates and I have all started a 30 thing to do before we turn 30 list. Here is mine, in no particular order:

spend a whole day reading a great novel
learn to ballroom dance properly
learn another language fluently
go on an overnight camping trip
make an entire outfit for someone else
see a pro sporting event in each major sport
go to a vineyard
learn to tie a bow tie
visit Nashville
scuba dive again
give blood
come up with a favorite movie list
go to a national conference
host a themed dinner party
visit the 5 biggest cities in the US
travel to Africa
hike an Adirondack high peak
get a real massage
finish reading all the Sherlock Holmes stories
publish a book
play a hockey game with full pads
see The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway
see the northern lights
ask a stranger if I can take their picture
see a ballet
learn to ride a horse
sell a photograph
make my own Memphis-style barbecue
go to Boston in the fall
produce a full-length album

I start working on it immediately and I hope to knock off a few this summer. My plan is to post about them all as I finish them, complete with pictures. Keep your eyes peeled.
