About

Hi. My name is Christina and I’m a story-teller.

Sometimes I tell stories through words, sometimes through photographs and sometimes with those magazine collages we all made in elementary school.

And sometimes I joke.

I’ve been blogging since 2006 and still love it. My internet-home has always been Not a Local, but you can also find me over at The Camera Phone Diaries and Belong to the Day. And on Facebook. And Twitter. And Etsy.

Most importantly, I am a disciple of Christ. I love Jesus and everything that comes with Him. My constant passion and pursuit is to be more like Him in thought, word and deed. I also love people. Yep. I’m an extrovert. I love to learn and watch people learn. I love progress. I love reconciliation. I love the word reconciliation. Then there are the things that make me a nerd: rock climbing, crafting, photography, Green Mountain coffee and Charles Dickens.

Professionally, I’m a graphic designer and photographer. I went to school for music production and television production and after college I taught myself graphic design and photography (thank you, Mr. Internet). I have since fallen in love with what I do and can’t think of doing anything else professionally.

I unofficially started up Belong to the Day Photography back in October 2005 when I agreed to shoot my first wedding. Since then, my camera has met families, brides, friends, children and landscapes all over the globe. I feel incredibly privileged and honored with every subject I encounter and hope that is communicated in my work.

Currently, I work as a graphic designer and marketing specialist for a jewelry store. It was my intention for this gig to be an in-between job while I search for the “American Dream”, but I may have found a niche. We’ll see.

Cheers!

Well Christina transition is always tough but when you think about what God has done and will continue to do in you, you realize dont hold on to anything to tightly. It is good to see some young faces around here in “Speculator” sounds like a town in a bad horror flick. Anyways keep up the faith in the Lord it sounds like He is your life and that goes along way, i remember when i worked in graphics i was hired but it didnt mean i knew what i was doing, i learned on the job and grew whats important is the heart and giving it your all for Gods glory, i know i didnt do it for God’s glory but for my sake in wanting selfish things. It doesnt take qualified people so God can use you he uses the weak, despised, and the foolish to bring to nothing the people that are so no flesh can glory in his presence. Joshua was commanded by the Lord to setup memory stones like pillars, so the generations would remember what the Lord did, in some ways your leaving is a memory stone of your life and testimony to all those people God brought your way to shine your light before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father in heaven, finish strong, stay focused be an example to the youth in purity, faith and good works.

I wish I could tell stories like you do and sometime in the near future, get to take photographs with you.

    Love,
    Your Asian Stalker.

I stumbled upon your blog looking for mission bloggers… you know, just to check them out and confront my fears. I just wanted to say that you’re blog is very cool. Love the pics you post, and that you quoted Dickens…
