Broccoli
My job during the summer takes me out of my normal community and places me in a new one, complete with new friends and all that comes with them. On my day off, I like to spend some time with the people I know and love year-round. Because my day off falls mid-week for 10 weeks a year, this normally means that in order to see people, I’ve got to meet them in their daily, normal lives. Last week I helped a friend clean an apartment, this week I plan on painting a bed.
Some of you are probably saying, “Do you rest on your day off?” Sure I do, but I also have opportunities to serve my surrogate family, and that brings me more joy than sitting on the beach all day.
Last week I also had the opportunity to help out with my church’s vacation bible school for one evening. I assisted with arts and crafts. I also goofed off with the women running the snacks area:

at least you eat your veggies…..
Actually, mom of Christina, she didn’t eat them…she is sooo bad!
Just because I didn’t eat ALL the broccoli that was crammed into my mouth at that particular moment, doesn’t mean I didn’t eat broccoli that night.
Try eating broccoli after it was tempting to gag you with every subtle movement.
ok ok at least she plays with her veggies….. miss you :-)
